The Good Companion is a registered Support at Home provider. We coordinate your government-funded care budget to deliver the full range of in-home services — including overnight and live-in care — with a named coordinator, consistent carers and no hidden fees.

Support at Home replaced Home Care Packages from 1 November 2025. The new program introduces eight funding classifications (replacing the previous four HCP levels) with a 'no worse off' guarantee for existing clients. If you were on a Home Care Package, your funding transferred automatically — no reapplication was required. Not sure where you stand? What replaced Home Care Packages?+
Support at Home replaced Home Care Packages in November 2025. If you had a HCP, you were automatically transitioned. The new program uses quarterly budgets. The Good Companion is an approved provider across all classifications.
How do I know if your fees are competitive?+
We provide a transparent fee comparison on request showing our management fee against your current provider. Many families access significantly more care hours per quarter by switching. Call us for an honest comparison before any commitment.
Can I switch providers without losing my funding?+
Yes. You can switch at any time. Your unspent quarterly budget transfers automatically. No exit fees are permitted. We manage the transition most families complete it within a week.
What does a coordinator do?+
Your coordinator manages your care plan, matches and monitors your carer, handles scheduling and is your direct contact when anything changes. A named, accountable person not a call centre.
Is overnight care funded under Support at Home?+
Yes. Overnight care is covered under higher budget classifications both sleepover and active overnight. Your coordinator will advise whether your classification supports regular overnight visits.
