NDIS Support — in your home,
in your community,
on your terms
You chose the NDIS to live the life you want. The Good Companion helps you use your funding for in-home support and community access — delivered by employed support workers who show up consistently, know you by name, and are accountable to a coordinator who oversees every visit.
Agency, plan & self-managed participants welcome · No obligation to enquire
Not contractors.
New to the NDIS?
Just received your plan or not sure how to use your funding for in-home or community support? We make it straightforward — no jargon, no pressure. One call is all it takes to get started.
How to get startedSwitching providers?
You can change NDIS providers at any time. Your plan and funding stay with you. If your current provider isn't delivering consistent workers or responding when things change — we can do better.
How switching worksSupport coordinators
We work efficiently with support coordinators — fast responses, clear service agreements, and reliable delivery. Refer a participant and we'll keep you informed at every step.
Coordinator referralsIn-home support and community access.
Not facilities. Not SIL housing.
The Good Companion specialises in supporting NDIS participants in their own homes and out in their communities. We do not operate disability centres or supported independent living (SIL) housing. If you need in-home or community-based support, you're in exactly the right place.
- In-home daily living support at your residence
- Community access — getting out and about with a support worker
- Assistance with personal care, hygiene and daily routines
- Social participation and skill building in the community
- Transport support to appointments, activities and social events
- Domestic assistance and household tasks
- Capacity building — supporting independence and daily life skills
- Support for plan-managed, agency-managed and self-managed participants
- Supported Independent Living (SIL) housing or shared accommodation
- Disability day centres or group hub programs
- Clinical nursing or allied health services (we can coordinate referrals)
- NDIS plan management (we support all plan management types but don't manage plans)

Support that's built on consistency,
not a roster of strangers
The NDIS gives you choice and control. That choice matters most when it comes to who supports you. Here is what The Good Companion delivers that most providers can't match.
Employed support workers — not contractors
Every support worker on our team is directly employed by The Good Companion — vetted, trained, insured and accountable to a coordinator. We don't use gig economy platforms or agency contractors. This means you can hold us responsible for the quality of your support, not chase down a third party.
The same worker, every time
Rotating support workers — the norm at many large providers — undermine the trust that effective disability support depends on. We match participants with a specific worker and maintain that relationship. Your support worker knows your preferences, your communication style, your routine and your goals.
A coordinator behind every worker
Each support worker is managed by a senior service coordinator who knows your plan, your goals and your worker. When something changes — your needs, your schedule, your circumstances — your coordinator responds. You have a named person to contact who has the authority and the context to act.
Your goals drive your support
NDIS funding is approved for your specific goals. Our support is built around those goals — not around a standard service menu. Whether your goal is greater independence at home, regular community access, or building daily living skills, your support plan reflects what matters to you specifically.
What your NDIS funding can cover with us
These supports are delivered in your own home or out in your community — never in a centre or facility. All delivered by our employed, coordinator-supported team.
The workers behind the support
Employed directly by The Good Companion. Each wearing their name because they stand behind the support they provide.
Employed. Consistent. Coordinated.
Every member of our team is a direct employee of The Good Companion — not a contractor hired through a gig platform and not an agency worker. They are vetted, trained and supported by a senior coordinator who monitors every service.
For NDIS participants, this matters enormously. Gig-economy platforms match you with whoever is available. We match you with one person, keep them, and make sure they know your goals, your preferences and your communication needs before the first visit begins.
Behind your support worker sits a coordinator who knows your NDIS plan and can be reached directly when anything changes.
Talk to us about your planWe work with all NDIS plan management types
Regardless of how your NDIS plan is managed, The Good Companion can support you. Here's how each arrangement works with us.
Agency Managed
(NDIA)
Your funding is managed directly by the NDIA. You can only use NDIS-registered providers. The Good Companion is a registered provider — you can engage us directly through the NDIS portal or by contacting us. We handle the claiming process on your behalf.
Registered provider ✓Plan Managed
A registered plan manager pays your providers using your NDIS funds. We work with all plan managers across Queensland and Western Australia. Send your plan manager our details and a service agreement — we do the rest. No direct paperwork burden for you.
All plan managers ✓Self Managed
You manage your own funding and can use any provider, registered or not. We provide clear invoicing and service records for your claims. Self-managed participants often appreciate our flexibility on scheduling and service scope — within the limits of your NDIS plan goals.
Maximum flexibility ✓From first call to first visit — four steps
No complicated intake forms before a conversation. No waiting weeks for a callback. Getting started with The Good Companion is straightforward.
Call or message us
Tell us about the participant — their NDIS plan type, their location, their goals and the kind of support they need. We respond the same business day.
We review your plan
Your coordinator reviews the NDIS plan with you (or your nominee / support coordinator). We confirm what's funded, explain our service agreement clearly and answer every question.
We match your worker
We select a support worker whose experience, communication style and availability matches the participant's needs. You meet them before support begins — always.
Support begins
The same worker, the agreed schedule, with a coordinator available throughout. We monitor delivery, report against goals and adjust as the participant's needs evolve.
Switching NDIS providers is your right — and it's straightforward
The NDIS gives you choice and control. That includes the right to change providers. You can switch at any time — your plan and funding stay with you, and your current provider must cooperate with the transition process.
These are the most common reasons participants and families switch to The Good Companion:
How switching works — three steps
Real outcomes. Real words.
The measure of good disability support isn't compliance — it's what changes in someone's life.
"After going through three providers who kept sending different workers, The Good Companion matched our son with one person who has been there consistently for eight months. He's calmer, more confident and actually looks forward to his community visits now."
"I'm self-managed and have tried a lot of providers. What's different here is that I actually speak to someone who knows my plan. When I needed to change my schedule they sorted it out the same day — not two weeks later."
"As a support coordinator I refer to The Good Companion because they actually follow through. Fast service agreements, workers who show up, and a coordinator I can reach when a participant's situation changes. That's rare."
"We moved from Queensland to Perth and were worried about finding the right support. The Good Companion transferred our service across and had a new worker introduced within a fortnight. Our daughter barely noticed the transition."
NDIS support across Queensland and Western Australia
Local support workers in both states — not a national call centre dispatching strangers. Our workers live in the communities they serve.
