In-home senior care by people who stay.
Employed carers. The same person every visit. A named coordinator behind every service. For older Australians who want to stay home — and families who want to know they're safe, supported and connected.
No obligation · No waitlist for private care · Support at Home accepted
You're not just looking for a carer. You're looking for peace of mind.
The families who call us are usually at a turning point. If any of these sound familiar, you're in the right place.
Mum or Dad is managing — but only just
Daily tasks are becoming harder. You're worried about falls, medication, meals. You want support before a crisis, not after.
Hospital discharge is coming
Your parent is ready to come home but needs support. Discharge day is stressful — we can often have a carer in place the same week.
You're managing care from a distance
You live interstate or overseas and can't be there every day. You need someone you trust — a real person with a real name — looking out for them.
The current provider isn't working
Different carers each visit. No one who knows your parent. Management fees eating into care hours. You can switch — there are no lock-in contracts.
The family is carrying too much
Family members are burning out doing it all themselves. Professional support isn't giving up — it's making sure your parent gets the care they deserve.
Avoiding a residential facility — for now
Your parent wants to stay home. You want that too. With the right support, many people stay home far longer than families expect — comfortably and safely.
Senior home care services — tailored to your situation
Every care plan is built around the individual — not a standard package. Services can be adjusted as needs change, without any paperwork or exit fees.
Personal Care
Showering, dressing, grooming, continence management and mobility support — delivered with dignity and consistency by a carer who knows your parent's routine.
Meal Preparation
Nutritious home-cooked meals prepared to taste and dietary requirements. Shared mealtimes when desired — a simple thing that makes a significant difference.
Medication Reminders
Prompts and support to take medications at the right time. Carers record and report — giving families visibility and confidence from any distance.
Companionship & Social Connection
Conversation, shared activities, outings and connection. Social isolation is a genuine health risk for seniors — a familiar companion changes the equation.
Transport & Appointments
Transport to medical appointments, shopping, social engagements and community activities. Safe, reliable, never a stranger behind the wheel.
Light Domestic Assistance
Keeping the home comfortable — laundry, light cleaning, tidying. Not a cleaning service; care support that respects your parent's home and their standards.
Dementia & Memory Care
Specialist dementia-trained carers who understand the importance of routine, familiarity and calm. The same face, every visit — the single most important thing.
Overnight Care
Sleepover or active overnight support. A qualified carer in the home through the night — for fall risk, dementia, palliative care or family respite.
24-Hour Live-In Care
Around-the-clock dedicated care at home — for those who need full-time support but prefer to remain in their own environment rather than entering a facility.
Not a gig platform. Not an agency. An employed team.

Not satisfied with your current provider? You can switch at any time with no penalties. We'll manage the transition so your parent's care isn't interrupted.
Clear rates. No surprises. No hidden fees.
Our rates are published so you can plan with confidence. Support at Home and DVA clients pay significantly less — in many cases, services are fully funded.
Rate variations by day & time
If you receive a Support at Home classification (formerly Home Care Packages), government funding covers most or all of your care costs. DVA Gold Card and White Card holders may be entitled to fully funded care. Full Age Pensioners pay the lowest contribution rates. Self-funded retirees pay the maximum but still receive substantial government support. Call us — we'll help you understand exactly what your funding covers before any commitment.
Senior home care may already be funded for your family
Multiple government funding pathways exist. For private clients, care can start this week with no waitlist. We'll help you understand every option available.
Support at Home
(formerly Home Care Packages)
Eight classification levels replaced the old four-level HCP system from 1 November 2025. All personal care, overnight and companionship services are fundable. From 1 October 2026, personal care will be fully government funded — no client contribution required.
DVA Gold Card & White Card
Veterans and their eligible partners may be entitled to comprehensive in-home care at no cost. Gold Card holders typically receive the broadest coverage. Call us — we'll help determine your entitlements quickly.
NDIS Support
As a registered NDIS provider (ID: 4-KEL6HCR), The Good Companion supports younger people with disability who require in-home care. Agency, plan and self-managed participants welcome across all our service areas.
Private — No Waitlist
No government approval required. Private senior care can begin within days — often the same week for urgent situations. We're upfront about rates before any commitment. Bridge with private care while funded arrangements are confirmed.

What families say about senior home care with The Good Companion
"We have been using carers from The Good Companion for approximately 12 months now. We have some of the best carers for my mum — they have become like friends to our family."
"The three carers are brilliant! Mum is very happy and comfortable with all three. I know this because for the first time in a long time she is actually smiling. I attribute that all to Sarah, Ruth and Danielle."
"When my elderly Father returned home from hospital, The Good Companion were nothing short of amazing — organising a carer the next day that was perfectly suited. Highly recommended."
